I got a sweet invite to the NY Chocolate Show this past weekend. I got to taste a lot of yummy things, including treats from Les Cinq Amandes (the Five Almonds). I received a box that included coconut almondine (in white and dark chocolate), rose almondine, and a rum raisin fait Maison.

Snacks were everywhere, and my favorite were the offerings from The Five Almonds. Candy-coverd almonds are a favorite of mine. But I have never seen – or tasted – the variety of flavors offered by The Five Almonds.
Rose, pistachio, white chocolate, hazelnut, lavender, orange peel – the list went on and on, each more delicious than previous.

Thousands were packed in to the Metropolitan Pavilion for the Chocolate Show, sampling chocolate in every conceivable size, color and flavor, but the two Marines who wound up at the display belonging to Les Cinq Amandes were treated to sweets, sweet thanks for their service and made to feel like rock stars!
